| | Insurance for Walks/Talks I have been a volunteer countryside ranger for nearly two years, doing the tasks, getting my chainsaw licence and co-leading events, such as the mushroom walks.
I have been told by several of the specialists that we've hired in that I could easily run the events myself as I have a broad knowledge on several difference subjects, e.g. a foreshore forage walk, mushroom, herb and harvest etc.
However, I'd need insurance to do this. Does anyone know which company is best to go for this and how much it costs? A lot of authorities insist on £5m public liability before you can use their land to do something like this and seeing as I can't afford the necessary qualifications to become a paid ranger, I thought this would be something I could add to my portfolio and bank balance! I've also been told by one of our rangers that I would make a good educational ranger but there just aren't the jobs for this. |

| | | Re: Insurance for Walks/Talks Would be interested in responses to this, as Carl and I are planning a group outing to Parkhall, with special emphasis on dragonflies in July. Though informal, if public liability insurance is needed, would like an idea of costs.... | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
