you can find general job ads for bbc jobs here https://jobs.bbc.co.uk/fe/tpl_bbc01.asp and similar pages exist on itv, channel 4 etc websites

There are more likely to be vacant niches: if they don't have a wildlife reporter then push for one. If they'd like one but can't finance a full-time post then offer them pieces on a per item basis or, if you're really keen, free!

But if you believe that you can achieve something there's a good chance you will however always prepare or partially expect for failure to avoid disappointment.
A good idea would be to look up biographies of current wildlife presenters and lok at how they got into it. You'll find that a lot will have a degree in a related subject to wildlife and there are a lot of degree on offer now which would help to get into that profession for example Wildlife and Media. Obvious biography example to look up is David Attenborough but maybe try people like Michaela Strachen, Konnie Huq or Nick Baker (may be easier to start with a children audience - wildlife programs are often associated with childrens tele).
Although if you look into Steve Backshall's biography (Really Wild Show, Deadly 60) he started of with a degree for english and something else not related to wildlife although his passion for wildlife alone and other experiences have helped him and he made a pilot for a TV show and et voila he climbed the ladder a little more.
Maybe you could even set up your own little documentaries or writings on a website and you never know, if it got a lot of coverage it could lead to further stuff...?
Hope this helps.
