| I found that the good Msc courses won't take you unless you have done the equivalent of a first year of an ecology degree (they weren't distance learning MScs though) or had extensive experience in the field and a non related degree. There are some certificate courses that provide the necessary education to get you onto an MSc course, if you have a degree in a non-related subject. Sheffield University Life Long Learning did do a good course (Certificate in Environmental Conservation) as evening classes, but I'm not quite sure if it has now fallen victim to cuts. |

If they do, could someone please signpost me as trawling the internet doesn't turn anything up. | University of East Anglia does a part-time ecology degree, and that is not too far from Wisbech . They used to also do a 1 year certificate which was to give you a foundation to go on to do their MSc in Applied Ecology, but you need to check if it still exists. I will keep looking. | You would get credits for prior degree level study with the OU, I did my degree with them BSc Hons Natural Sciences made up mainly of environment, ecology and evolution courses. The level 3 ecology course was superb but they don't run that one any more. However there are many ecology / earth science/environment related courses.

| | | Re: Do distance Learning or part-time ecology degrees exist? Yes they do. I did a natural science degree with the OU. Realy enjoyed it I found the ou offered lots of flexablity in course choice. The do some great enviromental courses, you should go to their website or call them and see as the courses change. Credits from other uni's can count toward qualifications with them, call them and they will advice you website also details how it all works too. | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
