| | | Re: teenager trying to make money! Hi and welcome to WAB
its very difficult being your age and wanting to save but not old enough to work but it wont be long and you will be able to so why not do things like having a go at a car boot sale and selling stuff you dont need and maybe a paper round etc Then keep an eye open on ebay and you will find some real bargains that are fine for you to start off with and progress from there.
Good luck and nice to hear you have an interest in nature

| | | Re: teenager trying to make money! paper round is a good idea or work for a relative. the only bad thing about getting money from magazines is to have the fanciest camera around and lots of patience. You will notice that when you go birdwatching etc there are always other professional photographers with big fat lenses. getting a good camera is quite expensive.
I would recommend getting a Kodak Z650 for Xmas or birthday. Its an affordable camera with a decent size zoom. 10x optical 5x digital. Or theres the Kodak Z740. I got mine for £70 when it was worth £250 but that was 2 years ago so they should be a lot cheaper now. Ebay should be good.
I am still saving up for a big camera with a big lens as well. Stick to it and you should go far.
I am guessing that you get teased a lot at school because of your hobbies. (same happened to me) Life gets better as you progress through the school. Just don't listen to what others say and be yourself.
And welcome to WAB by the way. Theres quite a lot of like minded teenagers on here. Me, Leifus, Squishy and the Young Hunter (mike) |

Now look at me! Working in production
If all goes as planned, i'll be trying to build up my CV by entering competitions and stuff. I've got a few moments of pride under the belt, but we've got years ahead. It's exciting to think where it may lead.
Honestly though, keep that attitude, it's a good way to be thinking. Stick around on WAB too- you'll never have a lack of support from anyone.

| | | Re: teenager trying to make money! Hello Photomaniac,
You will have what you want one day but in the mean time........ Fieldcraft
Get to know your commoner species inside out... Study them and learn to anticipate their movements etc, this ultimately will get you closer to your subject than a bigger lens though it helps.. Patience
Take your time when approaching your subject, use the surroundings as cover .. slowly does it..
Good luck ... you'll be surprised even with a cheap camera what results can be achieved just remember its limits what it can and cannot do..

| | | Re: teenager trying to make money! if your looking for a good camera under £100 i suggest looking into the fujifilm finepix s5800 with 10x optical zoom and 8 megapixel, your not going to get anything better for under £100
