Vale Wildlife is a wildlife hospital & rehabilitation centre based on the Worcestershire/Gloucestershire border.
We currently have 2 vacancies for staff:
Wildlife Casualty Manager
We will shortly be requiring a Wildlife Casualty Manager to start early 2009.
Duties to include assessing & treating wildlife casualties admitted to the hospital, calculating treatment regimes & making sure all casualties within the hospital receive the correct treatment on a daily basis. Assessing the readiness of rehabilitated casualties for release & organising their return to the wild when fit.
Overseeing the day-to-day running of the hospital & supervising the Care Assistants.
There will be a requirement to work alternate weekends with some nights on-call.
Must have previous experience in the care, treatment & release of British wildlife as well as experience of managing a team of staff.

Salary: £14,500 pa initially (negotiable) depending on experience.

Wildlife Care Assistant
Wildlife Care Assistant required:
Animal care duties in a busy Wildlife Hospital (Registered Charity), to include:
Feeding, daily cleaning, assessing & treating injuries & illnesses, aviary & enclosure maintenance, emergency call-out duties, & nights on-call (staying overnight unsupervised in the hospital).
Telephone answering & some office work may also be required.
Animal experience required. Wildlife experience an advantage.
Full training given in administering treatments, handling wild animals & dealing with call-outs.
Must be confident to work alone and as part of a team.
Alternate weekends will be included.
Applicants must have a full, clean driving licence & be 21 years or over with a minimum of 12 months driving experience to enable them to drive our ambulances.

Wage: £5.73 per hour plus small payment for on-calls.
