| | | Working with farmers Hi
reading the various posts about lack of success with job success, I just thought I'd add my penny's worth. There are lots of jobs which involve advising or working with farmers on ecology or wildlife management although admittedly Natural England one of the main employers are a bit struck for cash at present. As well as having the wildlife expertise and a very practical approach, a lot of these jobs will require excellent communication skills and a knowledge of farming practices and an ability to work with farmers. So it's an additional topic area to think about. As a farmer I have an excellent relationship with my local NE team and a lot of that is down to their pragmatic approach and understanding of the farming as well as the wildlife issues.and their 'rounded' approach to land management for multiple objectives with its inherent difficulties. As farmers we are also helping to train them - some of the young advisers had never seen flocks of meadow pipits in lowland Leicestershire! | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
