| | | Re: dry stone project lorne fd I think they look absolutely brilliant! My Great (and a few more) Grandfather built some of the massive lengths of walls over the Derbyshire moors, so I was told. There was a paper record in some parish magazine at one time, but I think it got lost.
I bet you feel really proud whenever you go there, I know I would. |

| | | Re: dry stone project lorne fd i really do feel good about it , but i must point out it was very much a team task, the forester officers ,the craftspeople ,and the instructor, each one of us,in our own way, made it possible!! there's a scroll buried in one of the seats stating that. who knows maybe in a few hundred years time it will see the light of day, once again!!!

| | | Re: dry stone project lorne fd What an excellent solution to your problem, so much more interesting and useful than a tree trunk across the accessable bit and the wildlife is catered for too. Many people will also appreciate a place to rest their weary bones.
Nice one, and a great achievement . |

The forrestry commission are clearing some conifer foresty down my way - one man, one machine, it's amazing to watch it cut the tree then strip away the branches and cut it into lengths, all in jig time.
