Is there any point in trying to get a job in a wildlife hosptital or rescue place? Would they just normally take on volunteers? I have done 2 years of the vet nursing degree before changing to animal biology so i have experience in both areas.
Just keeping my options open. |

My friend actually just got a job in a wildlife hospital with no previous experience!
She just see a job advertised and sent in a covering letter and cv and they took her on as she seemed so passionate and willing to learn 
Its only parttime and low pay but she loves it two weeks in!

There is every point - we have only rarely taken on volunteers when we have a vacancy. We advertise & take on new staff that way. As mentioned though, it is very low pay unfortunately. Very few people have experience in British wildlife care so it is very rare to take on someone experienced.
Keep trying - if you can afford the wages!!
Volunteering at your local rescue centre would be a good idea though.
