| | | What volunteer jobs have you done recently? I'm guessing there are quite a few people on here who do volunteer work during the week or at weekends and I'm interested to know what everyone's been up to as I'm sure it varies quite a bit!
Personally I've been helping out at a big cat sanctuary and have spent the day up a ladder today in a pen belonging to two snow leopards painting painting their tree house/perch and then helping to show some people round the sanctuary for rest of the afternoon, what have other people been up to this week? |

| | | Re: What volunteer jobs have you done recently? I've helped out at a local nature reserve with coppicing a couple of times in the last few months and had a great time.
Unfortunately the days will coincide with tutorials for my OU course over the next few months so it'll be a while before I can go back.
I'd rather be coppicing but I guess the tutorials will be worth it in the long run!

| | | Re: What volunteer jobs have you done recently? I volunteer at an RSPB red kite feeding station but as a 'meeter and greeter' to the general public, just chatting about birds. I also help out at an after school club run by the Wildlife Trust. Both are great fun.
In the past have volunteered at an RSPCA kennels/cattery which was great.

Cats are proper ace.
I wish that wild cats were more common. |

| | | Re: What volunteer jobs have you done recently? I volunteer on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway and very much enjoy the interaction with visitors to this lovely line.
I do a bit of 'behind the scenes' work for Wild About Britain, and am currently fundraising for this site - just a few quid at a time, but it mounts up. Even selling a few cards, plants, cakes etc. can help, when the profit is donated to the site.
And having printed a poster about railways in the 50s, I have been selling a few copies, and handing some out to interested youngsters and other railways to help them too. Again, all profit to Wild About Britain.

| | | Re: What volunteer jobs have you done recently? I am a volunteer Water Vole surveyor for Derbyshire Wildlife Trust (love it), a volunteer Geology Trail Leader at the National Stone Centre, Wirksworth, Derbyshire and as if that wasn't enough I do casual voluntary work for N.W. English Springer Spaniel Rescue, visiting people who would like to offer springers a new home.
Not surprising I don't get much housework done!
