| | | Volunteering Opportunities Information for all the younger members of WAB, aged 16-25 year olds.
It looks like it's in its infancy at the moment, but would seem a good place to start if anyone is looking for volunteer places and more. SITA Trust - GreenPrints - GreenPrints

| | | Re: Volunteering Opportunities Gosh, just proves you can’t please everybody. Two replies, looks good and then complaints. So it's not ideal, but surely something like this is good for young people who might want to try and get involved.
The wildlife trusts who are one of the backers have plenty of opportunities for people to volunteer where you don't get paid, but its still experience. They also have placements for at least 6 months where you get paid as well. Again you might not get a job at the end but its all experience and you might even get another qualification.
I'm amazed, and I to was guilty until 3 years ago, how many people haven't heard of the wildlife trusts, and the work they do.
Looks good and lets spread the word and be positive.

I'm sure the Scottish wildlife Trust will have a similar scheme already running, but only covering their reserves. If your interested give them a ring or check the web site. | | | Re: Volunteering Opportunities Those youngsters in Scotland should defo check out Project Scotland. They have a really easy to use website and very helpful staff who get back to you swiftly. I just finished my BSc degree in Zoology this year (after 4 years) and these guys have been a great first stepping stone to start networking. They are a non profitable organisation and cover travel expenses plus you get £55 a week allowances. Simply stick your postcode in their website and sift through the positions in your area, they cooperate with BTCV and RSPB so it's well worth a peek if your intereseted in conservation work in scotland. |

| | | Re: Volunteering Opportunities Looks quite interesting, definitely going to keep an eye on it. Just getting round (almost) to this sort of thing after 2 years of post degree drifting! Anyone got any tips or suggestions of where to try for someone in London/Sout East? | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
