It's the love of British Wildlife - "alive" that most of us are interested in, not the tools used to knock it off for the plate. | I have to agree with you there. |

I shoot/trap a few squiirells/magpies etc Plant new trees for both my pheasants and the wild birds. In the gone nesting time of year i knew where 3 blue tit nest sites where and made them safe from predators and now they have happily fledged
We are just contructing a hide for both shooting and wildlife obervations. which progress i will post on the sight soon So keep your eyes open chaps

You love some of our wildlife not all of it, and wildlife doesn't want or need your interfering help, so take off your wildlife champion halo and put back on your hunters hat, it suits you better

the woodlands with regen browsed out by deer, the red squirels suffering from parropox , the rare ground nesting birds heavilly predated by corvids, the watervoles and kingfishers predated by mink etc etc do need our help , although it is true that this would not have been necessary had man not interfered by releasing alien species and taking out top predators in the first place.
I have never hunted anything for pleasure or sport , and only occasionally when i was very poor for food - 90% plus of my hunting has been for conservation reasons only.
However that said I do agree with the earlier comment that we have had enough of the firearms / species control discussions for the moment so lets get back to the living wildlife. (tho if anyone wants species control advice, for the purposes of conservation, i am happy to answer questions by pm.)

| | | Re: Gamekeeping I was watching birding with Bill oddbod last night and he was with this conservationist in a strip of maize cover planted for the benefit of Red legged partridge. This one stip of maize had atracted a stone curlew to nest there and various other birds. He had expalined to Bill Odbod that without Controlling foxes and Corivds those birds would not be there. |

If you're tempted, don't .... |
