| | | Plant id please I found this plant in a woods in 2010, the flowers were sweet smelling,
I thought it must be a garden escape.
The nearest house about a mile away,so how it got there is a mystery.
Any help please.
Thanks in advance Graham. , ,

| | | Re: Plant id please It's Spring Starflower - Tristagma uniflorum (syn. Ipheion uniflorum). Usually white or pale-blue.
It seems to be spreading, usually near gardens, so interesting to hear of it a bit further afield.
I found this plant last year, beneath a limestone cliff on the Great Orme.

| | | Re: Plant id please Thanks for reply and info Dorts,
I think some of these garden escapes must be planted in the wild for some personal reasons we will never know.
Thanks again Graham.

| | | Re: Plant id please I bought some bulbs of this plant years ago, and they have spread into thick masses. Also the seed has dispersed and I find them all over the garden some distance away. The seed is fine so I think the wind blows it, or ants carry it like they have cyclamen. Very pretty, bees like it. Good for cut flowers too. Some are already out in flower.
