Goldenrods

Can anyone tell me if I've identified these correctly?

Goldenrod (Solidago virgaurea)?



And the plant below, at a different location: Canadian Goldenrod (Solidago canadensis)??



I didn't take any photos of the leaves, silly me.

Anyway, I'd be grateful for your opinions!

Hi skarekrow.
The first is indeed our native Goldenrod - Solidago virgaurea. Quite common except for Central and Eastern England.

The second is almost certainly Canadian Goldenrod - Solidago canadensis, which is by far our commonest non-native species.
