| | | Wildflowers for ID please This one has me confused. I'm thinking a deadnettle/hemp nettle but the leaves don't really fit for either. Square stem, rough and hairy, with soft leaves.
This is also small, with a square, rough stem but not hairy or sticky.
Both seen around field gateways in Cornwall today. |

| | | Re: Wildflowers for ID please I think 1. is the rather variable Cut-leaved Dead-nettle - Lamium hybridum. Quite common in Cornwall, (and many other places).

Looking at online pics, I am now leaning towards Field Woundwort for no. 1, although there are not many pics of the whole plant to be seen for comparison, and of course some may have been misnamed anyway! |
