Plant id please

I have never seen a plant with a square stem before and obviously not in flower but perhaps an id is possible.

It's Common Figwort, Scrophularia nodosa. There are a few other figwort species, but this looks like Common Figwort on the basis of the stem which is very square but not actually winged. It is a bit tricky to tell from the photo though.

I agree with KE. Common Figwort, (long past its best).

A great many species of plants have have square stems, and it is always worth making a note of a plant that has; it could be of great help when it comes to making a correct ID.
