I have found and recorded this in vast numbers with common cudweed in a sandy quarry, I had never seen so many individuals !

Marsh cudweed is more common but personally I have seen more and more common cudweed this summer in my patch.

It's interesting to note that Common Cudweed has decreased S.Eastwards over the last 50 years or so, and is now becoming quite scarce except in the East and S. East of the country. BSBI Maps Scheme: Hectad Map
So you are very fortunate John, I've not come across it at all up here.

I didn't have my camera with me when I saw what I thought was common cudweed the yesterday.I do have these pics that I took at another location
and it dosn't look the same as the one I saw yesterday any help please?   ,

I took my camera with me this morning and took these pics which look more like Common Cudweed to me but would like confirmation .

Your first photo's are of Marsh Cudweed - Gnaphalium uliginosum, and the second is indeed the closely related, Common Cudweed - Filago vulgaris.
