| | | ID for a not exactly wild flower Bought on a whim at a garden centre in Lancashire with no name attached and it has been giving me great pleasure all summer.
Any help with an ID would be appreciated.
The nearest I can get is a cultivated Knotgrass - is this possible? |

| | | Re: ID for a not exactly wild flower I thought the leaves looked a bit like a Jasmine, does it smell?
Maybe you could take a bit to a garden centre and ask what it is? I'd love to know so I can get one, it looks lovely. |

| | | Re: ID for a not exactly wild flower I agree that the plant looks like a cross of/or similar to all those mentioned, but I can confirm that it doesn't have a perfume even when the leaves are crushed.
Back to the garden centre it is then and I'll let you know ........ |

| | | Re: ID for a not exactly wild flower I hadn't seen this plant before, but today noticed a whole line of pots of this plant up the outside steps of a near neighbour + realised it was the unidentified plant in the photo.
It's Euphorbia "Diamond Frost" thanks to my keen gardening neighbour. A check on Google confirmed the ID + seems widely available from various nurseries + drought tolerant, but slightly tender, so may be worth moving to a conservatory or greenhouse if yoy have access to one. |

I had no idea what it was, other than assuming it was something new from the horticultural world.
Euphorbia is such a variable genus.
Well done.

| | | Re: ID for a not exactly wild flower Thanks Aeshna5 for your sharp eyes and bearing my little plant in mind on your travels.
It is still going strong, but I will beware your warning of it being tender as I wouldn't like to lose it.
....but a Euphorbia, who'd have thought it. I hold this genus with new respect.
My thanks to your neighbour.

| | | Re: ID for a not exactly wild flower Apparently it only came onto the market this year; 'Diamond Frost'® - Euphorbia graminea .
It is frost hardy and can withstand temperatures down to -5°C (23°F), but is recommended as a greenhouse/conservatory plant. So best brought in, to somewhere with plenty of light over the winter.
