Blue Flower ID

I noticed this plant next to one of the tracks in Rainton Meadows on 21st August. There appeared to be only this small group which may mean it is a garden escape or an introduction. Can anyone assist with ID please. Thanks.

It's Cultivated Flax - Linum usitatissimum, by far the commonest species now that it is sown in many areas of the country. Not native.

I'm grateful, as always, for your help. I now realise that I have come across this plant before, in 2007 and 2008. I recall from looking at images from that time that I found it on the margins of arable fields close to Rainton Meadows along with other plants that were probably introduced as insect attractors, such as Scorpion Weed.
