Got my hopes up  Any idea if it can be found in the UK and is it common (easy to find) and where is the best place to look.

Yes, I agree with Hedrera, Dogwood - Cornus sanguinea. Aronia species (Chokeberry), have very seldom been recorded growing 'wild' in Britain.

My girlfriend brought some beverage back from Poland called Nalewka that was made using Aronia that had been picked from a bush/shrub. Very tasty and wanted to make some but I needed aronia, ah well.
