| | | Re: id for a pond plant Looks like Brooklime to me although leaf margins are not as jagged as in some of my pictures - but this could be variability.

| | | Re: id for a pond plant Yes, it's Watercress.
Brooklime leaves are serated as you said John, longer and with distinct pale veins.

| | | Re: id for a pond plant I'm confused still, I've looked up watercress and it has pinnate leaves whereas this plant doesn't, I'm guessing it's too late in the year for it to flower but I will keep a watch for that.
Is there anything else this plant couild be?? |

| | | Re: id for a pond plant My brooklime was a very tentative suggestion but those hexagonal leaves are of course watercress, duh

Is there anything else this plant couild be?? | The young leaves are 'entire', they will become 'pinnate' on the flowering stems.

| | | Re: id for a pond plant The stream that runs through Langer Park, about 3/4 of a mile north of Landguard Common, is solid with Watercress, so may be the origin of yours. It disappears into a culvert at the southern end of the park and, as far as I can tell from Google Earth, doesn't re-emerge within the docks complex, but the route must pass close to the Common.
How does Watercress spread?
