Blue Asterace for ID

Possibly Blue Fleabane but not sure as the description in Collins key is a bit poor and it doesn't appear branched enough.





Sorry for poor quality of photos but my wife took them on her phone up on the moors near Clitheroe yesterday. The plant was growing alongside a rocky track near a stream.

Ben, it is Blue Fleabane - Erigeron acer.
Plants are generally single-stemmed and only branched among the fowers. So often on dry sandy soils, the plants are very small with no more that a couple of flowers per plant.

Your botanical knowledge is pretty astonishing, I'm thinking of taking pictures of obscure plants next time I'm on holiday and claiming I found them in Yorkshire just to try and fox you! :-)
