| | | Re: Asteraceae ID please John, it's a Hawkweed - Hieracium sp. There are a lot coming into flower right now. I quite enjoy having a go at them, but not from a photo! You have to have the plant 'at-hand' to stand any chance. I think so far we're up to about 250 different species, sub-species and micro-species on the British list.
Having said all that, your plant looks like one of the 'umbellatum' group.
I think they are great looking plants.
