Hi can anyone id these two flowers found growing on open heathland for me please.
Just to prove my stupidity this i thought was a thistle.  
And this a scabiuous.

Top line is Common Knapweed
Bottom line is Devil's-bit Scabious
I guess it was a fairly damp grassy heath ?  |

What a wonderful deep blue colour. Would this be because of the habitat where it was found or is this in the normal range for Devil's Bit Scabious?
I've only ever seen the pale mauve to deeper purple.
