| | | Japanese Knotweed Locations Needed Hi,
I am currently conducting a photographic project concerning invasive species and would like to document sites where Japanese Knotweed is present, particularly in the London area.
Any specific locations that people are aware of where there is a current population of the weeds would be much appreciated. I am not going to be disrupting the weeds, but simply documenting them.
Thanks for your help, I am going to be away for a week from tomorrow, so will reply to your posts on my return.
Regards,
Ben |

| | | Re: Japanese Knotweed Locations Needed 12 years ago, when I lived in Woolwich, there was a massive infestation of Japweed at the eastern end of Plumstead Common, in the Grosmont Avenue area - getting on for a couple of acres of it. I've no reason to think it's not still there.

Ben | Given how much was spent in clearing the Olympic Park of this plant I'd have thought there must be many locations along the Lea. I'd also suspect that it will crop up every few hundred metres or so along other waterways.
Your local library may have a copy of the LNHS publication on London's Plants from 1983. |

| | Re: Japanese Knotweed Locations Needed Hi, thanks for the comments and suggestions.
Tursiops2, thanks for this tip-off I think I will head down to Plumstead Common to investigate...
If anyone has any more sightings or suggestions they would be gratefully received! |
