| | | Dark Red Helleborine Hi again
Life has been fairly hectic over the past couple of weeks, what with chasing Dune Helleborines with Dorts and having to rescue hikers who'd forgotten where they'd parked their car, but at last I have time to upload pictures of Dark Red Helleborines photographed in County Durham on 13th July.
You'll all know the site, and I reckon we were there just at the right time, also saw plenty of Marsh Fragrant Orchid, and one or two 'past it' Bee Orchids. Also Hoary Plantain and a very nice colony of Sand Martins.
All that, along with the Durham Police notices warning that they were aware of naughty goings on at the site and a variety of animal 'scarecrows' as part of a village event made it a very interesting site to visit.

| | | Re: Dark Red Helleborine Great story Jeff + some fine photos.
I've not seen Dark Red Helleborine in the UK but it's pretty common in coastal Estonia where I have seen it. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
