Bird-seed grass

This has come up right under the bird feeders in the garden. An oat grass but anyone know which species? I could have looked on the packet and deduced which one, but I threw it away

Looks like Avena sativa.

Interesting stuff, bird seed. A couple of years ago we had a number of plants of American Ragweed under our bird table, which I gather is a bit of a menace. Years ago there were stories about Cannabis growing from scattered birdseed, but I think that may have been just a myth!

No, it was not a myth. Cannabis used to pop-up frequently on garden rubbish heaps and around bird-tables. It stopped when it was illegal to import 'bird-seed' mixes containing Hemp seed (Cannabis sativa), unless it had been boiled first to make it infertile.
