Iris ID please

Hello all

Found these growing in a sandy area near the coast, I am almost certain they are Iris as they look similar to the garden types I see. Are these wild or a garden escape

Looks like Iris Melody.Many Iris are abandoned these days cropping up in many paces.

It's Stinking Iris - Iris foetidissima; one of our native Irises. Usually found in shady-places.

Thanks artdemole and Dorts I had an idea it was a wild type as it was well away from any form of habitation but I thought someone may have planted it. It was underneath a stunted pine.
