I need to save my pennies and invest in a better camera, Just can't get the close up details I need , so I apologise

It is which one - we would need more details, a look at the leaves, stem and maybe the sepals. Hold a piece of leaf up to the sun, some species have translucent dots some do not, you need a wildflower book to do the rest.

Thks for the advice John, Have just been reading up on St-Johns-wort and am now aware the subtle differences, will take books out into the field next time

Yes they can be tricky at first and often I come away still unsure, but I am still cutting my teeth at this plant malarkey - but that is why we have WAB
