| | | Identification -please This was about 50-75 cm and standing alone (as you can see) in between deciduous woodland and meadow.
I'm pretty sure I should know it but am a bit confused as it hasn't actually flowered yet? Botany is not my forte and I'm vacillating ,with my very limited knowledge, between some kind of comfrey and a self heal....I think
Any help would be much appreciated.

| | | Re: Identification -please I'm almost sure that its Marsh Woundwort but it would require a damp habitat and it seems to have 3 leaves per whorl which would be unusual. But then I'm struggling to think of anyting with 3 leaves/whorl. See what others think! Perhaps I'll go and have a look at the Marsh Wondwort just down the field.

Your plant looks like Purple Loosestrife to me.

Mike.

Regards,
Mike. | Thankyou Lancs lad We've been a bit busy recently - OH was in the Look 11 exhibition in Liverpool this month and we've just got back from an exhibition he guested in (this year's Wildlife Photography graduates) in London. I've just finished my college course in Photo, too!
Also my son had a baby girl (amazing what they can do these days ) in February and I saw my daughter's little boy being born last week - it was wonderful !
