2 is Skullcap Scutellaria galericulata

Would that be Skullcap as used in Skullcap and Valerian the herbal remedy? Brilliant for dogs with CCD or a fear of fireworks etc.

Yes it is the same. I found this piece describing it uses:

"Skullcap is sometimes called "mad dog," in reference to its historical use in treating the symptoms of rabies, which can result from the bite of a rabid dog. Skullcap quiets nervous tension and eases muscle tension and spasms. Skullcap also induces sleep without strongly sedating or stupefying. Skullcap may help to lower elevated blood pressure.

Skullcap has been used for abnormally tense or twitching muscles, as occurs with rabies, Parkinson's disease, St. Vitus dance (acute chorea, a nervous system disease characterized by involuntary movements of the limbs), and epilepsy."

Though I should point out that I am in no way promoting or agreeing with these claims!!

Thanks to your photo VW, I've just done a bit of research and apparently there is some on a site not too far from me, so I'm hoping to visit sometime this week.

Other species there are said to include Marsh Helleborine, Green flowered Helleborine, Broad-leaved cotton-grass, Common butterwort, Aquilegia vulgaris, Fragrant orchid, Bird’s nest orchid and Few-flowered spike-rush!

Worth investigating I think!....although I wonder if a few of these will have already flowered and gone over by now.

Great! There was a lot of Ragged Robin, too, which is a plant I've never seen before. We also saw a weasel and two Great Crested Newts.

I think the Moss does dry up fairly regularly. We've had loads of rain here and surrounding pools are OK, so I don't know where the water's gone.
