| | | Something scrophulariaceous
Several of these have appeared in the gutter just down the road. The flower is 15mm x 15mm from the front and has a slender pale brown spur, 8mm long and curving downwards. Any ideas please. |

| | | Re: Something scrophulariaceous I'll go with that, Nemesia caerulea, a garden escapee probably. |

| | | Re: Something scrophulariaceous Thanks for these....definitely Nemesia and very likely Nemesia caerulea as Teresa suggests. Google shows another candidate Nemesia foetens but this looks so similar to caerulea it might be a synonym |

| | | Re: Something scrophulariaceous I didn't expect this plant to come up a second year, more so as the gutter it's growing in is outside a private school with much parking of Range Rovers going on. But it's made another appearance:
My question is, how many successive seasons will it have to appear before it becomes botanically significant, i.e. worth recording? In other words, how casual is Casual with a capital C?
On the subject of roadside gutters I spotted this American Galingale on the way home:
I'll keep an eye on this one as well as the Nemesia. Gutters are worth observing. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
