| | | Re: 2 flowers for id. thanks for the replies. the purple flower was at Sand Point, North Somerset on the rocks at the end and the white flower was on waste ground. I don't know if the plant was scented or not. Will find out next time i'm there.

| | | Re: 2 flowers for id. just checking the suggestions in the book. The Common Dog Violet looks the best based on habitat. I'm leaning towards Common Whitlowgrass for the other based on flower size and habitat. The flower heads were around 3mm in diameter. The picture makes them look bigger than they were.

| | | Re: 2 flowers for id. Having taken a closer look (which I should have done in the first place; sorry  ) the first one's definitely Common Whitlowgrass.
I'm still confident in naming No.2 as Sweet Violet, though, because I saw it at Sand Point myself while I was tracking down the Snake's-head Iris last week |
