| | | How-to book on wild flowers I would be interested to know whether people would welcome a book on how to identify wild flowers - not yet another fieldguide, but a book explaining how to use fieldguides constructively, where to look for flowers and generally how to get stuck into field botany. |

| | | Re: How-to book on wild flowers There might be a market for something like this. The book could cover things like how to distinguish a superior from an inferior ovary, and how to recognise a sterile (hybrid) flower. |

| | | Re: How-to book on wild flowers the wildflower key by francis rose covers a good few of these things, rather than just being a field guide, it helps ID flowers with use of keys as well as detailed descriptions of flowers, leaves and stems. |

Just my view! |

Just my view! | that is a good point, it does use very elaborate terms, but it has helped me in getting a deeper understanding of flower parts, etc. to be honest i find it difficult so maybe a more user friendly version would be useful! | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
