I think Lords and Ladies is probably a local name - it's also known as Parson in the Pulpit and also Adam and Eve .
The flower has a fleshy stem which bears separtate male and female flowers which is where it might get Adam and Eve from, the flower also consists a a stem within a cowl-like sheath which is probably why it is known as Parson in the Pulpit - just a guess mind |
