| | | Re: Developing the Wildflower Pages Stu,
I've just replaced the image for Meadow Crane's-bill - Geranium pratense. (Originally had my mis-identified image of Wood Crane's-bill showing)
Is there any way we can add new species to the list? or are members only allowed to edit the existing list?
I noticed that Coralroot - Cardamine bulbifera is not on the species list, and wanted to add it, but there doesn't seem to be a way of adding new species.
Regards,
Mike. |

I've just added the Coralroot details, and will add more species as and when I find they are missing.
Regards,
Mike.

| | | Re: Developing the Wildflower Pages Various duplicate entries are being made in the Wild flower A -Z index.
e.g. American Skunk Cabbage.
I only noticed because someone has used one of my photos as the image.
There is a thread that shows recent updates, and the last time I added a plant, it was shown immediately on both the main A - Z index, and on the recent updates thread.
People need to look at the main index before adding new plants/entries to ensure that what they are adding isn't there already.
Question for Admin. - Is there any way that duplicate entries could be automatically detected and prevented

| | | Re: Developing the Wildflower Pages There are quite a lot of plant that have been added under different names. I have tried to standardize the names a bit to highlight the duplicates, this might be why many of are showing up now - I know the America Skunk-cabbage was one, was on once under that name and once under just Skunk-cabbage Quote:

| | | Re: Developing the Wildflower Pages Thanks guys,
I've removed/merged all duplicates from the wildflowers section and I'll try and make a better noticed on the 'Create Wildflower' page to avoid duplicates in future

| | | Re: Developing the Wildflower Pages I was looking around here and maybe you have already done it but I wonder is it not better to take into account the scientific name to do the list instead of english names? This will avoid duplicates. | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
