| | | A couple for confirmation and others for ID Hi All, a favour I need the following confirmed / identified. I'm sorting through various images taken earlier this month all in SW Northumberland. I only have the Collins Wildflower field guide with me, I'm at sea onboard ship and thus have limited resources.
Pics 1 & 2 Common Valerian???
Pic 3 Fragrant Orchid, colour has me wondering, at first I wondered Com Spotted?
Pics 4 & 5 Not sure
Cheers

4 and 5 are Yarrow Achillea millefolium I think.
Looks like you had a good day in the field. Hope conditions are also fair at sea,
Rob

| | | Re: A couple for confirmation and others for ID Plant 1 is Common Valerian with the longhorn beetle, Rutpela (Strangalia) maculata, on it.
Plant 2 is not Fragrant, looks like Common Spotted to me.
Plant 3 is Yarrow |

From the blousy lip and not very prominent central lobe to the lip I would suggest the orchid is Heath Spotted Dactylorhiza maculata
All the best
