I always get a bit confused with some of these umbellifers, pam .. and I always wonder when I see cow parsley whether it actually *is*, so thanks for asking the question I was too embarrassed to ask! p.s. Other name for it is Queen Anne's Lace, so I guess that is the clue to it's delicate appearance

| | | Re: Cow Parsley? I agree umbellifers are hard work but I would have said Cow Parsley was one of the easier ones, as long as there are fruits on it. These are smooth and cylindrical. Not unlike Rough Chervil fruits, but that is a very different plant, grey-green and rough with purple spotted stems. |

| | | Re: Cow Parsley? I always used to get cow parsley and rough chervil confused but, when you look at them long enough, cow parsley has sort of shiny green leaves whereas rough chervil has matt looking leaves - due to them being slightly hairy. They also differ in the ways TC describes.
