| | | Grass (I think) for ID please:-) The plant below has somehow appeared in my garden this year. Apologies for the blurred image of the 'flowers'....but it was windy and the plant was wobbling all over the shop!
What is it?
Leaves...
'Flowers'...
Thanks,
Tracey (I know that's Jacob's Ladder in the piccie too!)

| | | Re: Grass (I think) for ID please:-) It's Common Sorrel, Rumex acetosa and belongs to the Dock family. You might be able to eat it for a salad but you better wait for confirmation of that 'cos I'm not absolutely sure.

| | | Re: Grass (I think) for ID please:-) Agree it's Common Sorrel + the young leaves are edible with a tart taste due to oxalic acid. Best not to eat too many though as too much calcium oxolate I believe can cause gall stones. I've often eaten a few on walks with no harm done! |
