ID Ivy Broomrape please

Does this look like Ivy Broomrape Orobanche hederae to anyone else besides me?

Seen growing beside the cliff path - significantly, perhaps, under ivy - this morning.

Looks a bit too orange for Ivy Broomrape. I think its the Common

I agree with KT. I see quite a lot of Ivy Broomrape on the North Wales coast and these photos are lacking the purple venation on the flowers and the overall purple flush

If anyone wants some seeds of Ivy Broomrape, we've got loads that are growing amongst the ivy at the foot of our apple tree. Currently they'll be seeds from last years spikes.

As 'treecreeper' says, the plant has purple in it.

Ivy Broomrape does also come in a yellow form apparently. So it could well be if there are no different host plants nearby.

These are very striking pictures. After these I think Rob's plant has to be ivy broomrape

Would be useful to see the stigmas which are usually important in IDing broomrapes. Ivy B. should have yellowish stigmas, Common B. usually purplish. Both species can grow on ivy.

I'll photograph ours tomorrow if it's dry and put it in the Gallery. IIRC the stigmas are a bright yellow.

The problem is, if the whole plant is the wrong colour can we draw conclusions from the colour of the stigmas?
