I wonder what pocket guide to british flowers you may suggest, please remember I usually carry a large camera and macro lens and tripod so keeping the size and weight down is quite important. With any luck it will help cut down the " whats this flower" posts from me, Thanks in advance.

Try Collin's Gem: Pocket Guide to Wildflowers, written by Martin Walter I believe...

(No idea which is more important!!)
It covers 240 UK WFs and is small and pretty cheap too!

I use Collins Nature guides, nice and small for field work and can be picked up for 99p on a famous auction site  |

Thanks for the suggestions, I was in town (Edinburgh) this morning and went into Waterstones, they didn't have the pocket Gem guide but I did find a possibly more relevant "to me" book called "Collins Scottish Wild Flowers" its not comprehensive but I doubt if any pocket book could be  .
I will visit that online auction site I never thought about that and as I'm all for recycling and saving money ( hoots) its a very good idea.
