I'm not sure about this plant. I suspect it is nodding bur marigold spp radiata but would appreciate confirmation or correction!

| | | re: wildflower for id I've only seen the regular Bidens cernua + not the radiate form , but it does look like it. I believe it's a variety rather than a subspecies though. |

| | | re: wildflower for id Brilliant! Thanks guys.
This is the first time I have seen a nodding bur marigold. I was pretty sure it was but seeing other photos on here suggested it wasn't. My very old Kebel Martin has radiata mentioned as a ssp. but it is now just a variety? Either way its much nicer than the normal version. There was loads of this plant growing beside a Norfolk broad.
Is this form particularly rare then???
Cheers |

Cheers | Stace regards it as a variety + says it's locally common in NW England, otherwise rare. |

I much prefer this form! | I meant the more attractive radiate form is most often found (occasional) in the NW (though apparently not where KT17 is); the regular plant is fairly common in the south + midlands; I see it not infrequently around some ponds in the London area. Stace says the radiate form is very rare away from NW, so that was an excellent find Ian! |
