| | | Unidentified Wildflowers
What are these three, please? They were all found in the chalky Chiltern Hills yesterday.
I think the yellow flower in the background of photo 2 is Common Rock-rose.
I think summer must have arrived - on my walk in Oxfordshire yesterday I noticed several flowers that I was seeing for the first time this year. These included Wild Mignonette, Yellow-wort, Agrimony, Hedge Woundwort, Bladder Campion and Lesser Stitchwort.
Thanks,
Pete

2. possibly a spirea

1 Dogwood - Thelycrania (Cornus) sanguinea
2 Privet - Ligustrum vulgare
3 St John's Wort - probably Hypericum perforatum
All common on chalk
All the best

| | | Re: Unidentified Wildflowers Thank you all very much for your answers.
With hindsight, I should have realised that the last one was a type of St John's Wort as I've seen it plenty of times before.
Thanks again,
Pete. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
