| | | Wildflower meadow I have just (at last) finished my wildflower meadow ,,,,, harrowed, seeded, and rolled
Some rain a couple of days ago should help with germination
What I did was to get in a digger to remove all of the old matted grasses and topsoil (cost a fortune ), and then, when the weeds re-appeared, sprayed and left over winter
Wildflower seed is 'wild' expensive though ... the mix is 10% wildflowers and the rest low growing meadow grasses
This is the view at the moment ... more pics as the flowers grow (I hope) |

| | | Re: Wildflower meadow Nice big area should look good when it becomes established. Keep the photos coming so we can share in the development.

| | | Re: Wildflower meadow Very interesting - I hope the hard work and expense pays off. Do keep us up-to-date with how your meadow progresses, I look forward to seeing more photos of it in the future. |

| | | Re: Wildflower meadow At long last the first signs of growth are appearing in the meadow, following a few recent days of rain
Over here we have in fact had very little rainfall since the beginning of May, unlike some of our friends in Southern England
Why can it not rain in the night time, and be lovely and warm during the day? |

| | | Re: Wildflower meadow That's great news Sam, time to get your camera out!
My butterfly meadow is also showing good signs. Cat's ear, Hawkweed, Ox Eye's and Cranesbills out in flower and good signs from the hardheads
But like you say could do with lots more sunshune!
Enjoy!
