Top one is Cukcoo Flower or Lady's Smock and the bottom one looks like Common Valarian.............if it smelt strongly of vanilla!

Hi,
Yes, Cardamine pratensis for the top photograph, but the lower one is Pyrenean Valerian, Valeriana pyrenaica. It is locally naturalised in damp woodland and the like.

The leaves look wrong for Valeriana pyrenaica and officinalis but the flower and stems fit well. |

Agree that it is the Pyrenean Valerian but it just proves that you need more than one guide book to ID plants. The much praised Rose doesn't include it but there is a very clear drawing in Blamey and Grey-Wilson who say that it is naturalised in a few woods in western Britain and Ireland | | |
