| | | Re: Wildflower or weed? Just planted some seeds today in a friend's garden. It will die away completely most years and then come again the following spring from seeding itself about. Occasionally it comes up again in the autumn. In this case it is usually killed by any hard frost - but not always, as was seen in my garden last year, where it came up after the drought ended in October, then most of it overwintered successfully and is now in flower.
I usually just let it seed where it wants, but it is pretty easy to collect the seed, which is about the size of a peppercorn, and disperse it to another part of the garden. |

| | | Re: Wildflower or weed? I'm glad I could help, I'm usually pretty poor at flower ID, but I saw those in my gran's garden last summer, fell in love with them and we spent ten minutes shaking as many seeds as we could out of them.
Unfortunately, I planted almost all of them in my garden, this winter my landlord decided to sell the house and we had to move so I never saw them come up.
I've got one little seedling now, and I'm hoping it'll survive. | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
