| | | what plant is this?? Hi
we had to do a lot of ditch clearance at work today and came across quite a few of these plants. They had woody stems from last year about 3feet high , i thought it might attract bees etc as plants at the roadside normally do . Only thing is does anyone know what plant these are ?
cheers |

| | | Re: what plant is this?? Yes, it's Figwort, and as you found it in a ditch it's probably Water Figwort. Both species are rather similar. They flower to about 3ft. and do indeed attract bees etc. with their small-maroon flowers.

| | | Re: what plant is this?? Thanks for that, im glad its good for the wildlife. We still have around 300yds of ditch to clean so rather than waste it i will bring some more home for the edges of my pond and put some near the ditches we are working on.
Once again thank you. |

As far as I know, it is not available in Britain.
