| | | Berberis confirmation please I have a mixed berberis hedge about 3 metres long outside my home and never really wondered which species are in it until now. This is the only species in fruit at the moment and I brought this cutting inside to photograph, is it Berberis julianae?

| | | Re: Berberis confirmation please John. Re-post with pics of flowers and these fruit pics. I have a good illustrated guide to Berberis that may help with an ID.

| | | Re: Berberis confirmation please Another in flower on the hedge, any idea on the species? Much smaller leaves than the first species ( Berberis julianae) (or possibly a cultivar/variant of it?)
Edit: Might be Berberis darwinii?
Thanks

Thanks | John, that is almost certainly B. dawinii. Those leaves with the three terminal spikes are very distinct.

| | | Re: Berberis confirmation please Cheers Dorts I did some image searches and looked similar - good to have a confirmation though.
Here is a shot of the B. julianae I put on a couple of months ago in flower, the bees are loving it right now!
