| | | A cemetery bush ID please Hello
I saw a bush the other day in a cemetery. Maybe it is an introduced species I have not seen before. Any ideas?
The photo is here PIC_0623a - Wild About Britain Pics
PS Sorry but I dont know how to post photos here, I could download this photo after several essays. So I hope it works. Thanks. |

PS When you have uploaded your photo, if you click on the box underneath your image marked 'linked thumbnail' and then copy the contents, you can paste it into your message which will then show the photo
Hope this helps

| | | Re: A cemetery bush ID please Definitly Garrya eliptica. The catkins usually over-winter and flower in the spring. Good shrub for a wall or sheltered spot. Does require pruning to keep in shape.
A popular garden shrub.

| | | Re: A cemetery bush ID please Many thanks! Yes it is. I looked into internet and it is native from the coasts of Oregon USA.
I have never heard about the family Garriaceae |

| | | Re: A cemetery bush ID please I keep coming across plants here that are native to Oregon. Lots of Erigeron glaucus, Seaside Daisy, naturalised in Penzance and that too is from Oregon and California as well according to Wiki.
