| | | Maritime grass for ID please Found this growing on coastal sands at Hayling Island. Looks like a small version of Marram. Any ideas as to ID please?
Cheers,

| | | Re: Maritime grass for ID please It's hard to see the size from the photos, but it doesn't look particularly small. Overall size can be quite variable anyway in a lot of plants - it's more useful to look at the size of particular features such as leaf width/length, flower size etc. |

| | | Re: Maritime grass for ID please Marram Grass - Ammophila arenaria is very important in helping with the stability of dunes and thereby avoiding erosion.
It can cover large areas such as here on Newborough in Anglesey where the Marram is protected by law to stop the dunes eroding.
