Aha thank you CM , i cosidered fungi Kayleigh and your pic is exactly like it as it grows in a clump just like that.Oh well its not very attractive and i cant imagine the seeds growing amongst fungi so think i'll dig up that area now.Thanks again all.

I've had this in my garden where sunflower hearts have been tossed to the ground by the birds + when they've got damp this mould (as in the photo) grows. No idea what it is- maybe ask in the fungi section.
